THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, INDUSTRY, MINES AND CRAFTS (CCIMA)
The CCIMA, like the Consular Assemblies, is an advisory and representative body of the business community in the fields of trade, industry, mining and crafts. It was created in 1921, its headquarters are in Douala, the economic capital.
It acts as a transmission belt between the private business community on the one hand and the public authorities on the other in terms of consultation and representation, concerning the many areas in the forefront of which is the economy. . It also develops an abundant activity of framing and especially of promotion of the industrial and commercial companies in term: of collection, treatment and diffusion of economic and commercial information; production of publications; support for business creation; international exchanges; promotion of exports through participation in fairs and exhibitions; assistance in finding partners. Finally, it maintains a network of relations with the Consular Assemblies of all countries and also with international organizations interested in the activities of the private sector. In summary, the CCIMA has two types of mission: an economic mission and a public service mission.
